TRAFFIC GARDEN AT MARBLES KIDS MUSEUM
SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL
I worked with Safe Routes to School, a division of Wake County Government, to visually document the installation and use of a traffic garden at the Marbles Kids Museum in downtown Raleigh. Traffic gardens are child-sized streetscapes that mimic real streets and provide an opportunity for children to learn traffic safety skills through experience in a safe environment. The accompanying video and photos were used to highlight the importance of the Safe Routes to School mission and advocacy movement - to make it safer and easier for students to be able to walk, bike, and roll to and from school via protected multimodal infrastructure.
